Katherine Marie Rossow

Katherine Marie Wendel Rossow, 94, of San Antonio, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020. She was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Gonzales to Leo and Luella Lierman Wendel.

She is survived by two sons: Sid Rossow of Beeville, Texas, and Stan Rossow and wife, Joey, of Pipe Creek, Texas; five grandchildren: Susie Lewis of Bandera, Melinda Culak and husband, Scott, of Pipe Creek, Todd Rossow and wife, Corissa, of Canyon, Kurt Rossow and wife, Katie, of Las Cruces, NM, Stacey Roeschen and husband, Jake of Boone, NC; seven great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Lindsy Lewis, Brody Culak, Merryn, Korbin and Kellen Rossow, and Kimber Roeschen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 76 years, Edwin; infant daughter, Brenda Rossow; sisters: Agnes Henderson and Leona Pakabusch; and brother: Paul Wendel.

Katherine moved to Westhoff at a young age with her parents. She graduated from Cuero High School. She worked in accounting for Sunbeam Bakery and Handy Andy’s accounting office. She was a member of the Kirby Hermann Sons Lodge #305 and the MacArthur Park Lutheran Church. Katherine and Edwin traveled all over the United States and into Canada by car and on bus tours.

Katherine was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She prepared many meals for family and friends. She enjoyed playing dominoes and attending Hermann Sons meetings.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, CDC guidelines will be followed for the safety of everyone. Social distancing and facial covering will be required.
