Karen Louise Baker Laster-Pena, 55, of Belton, formerly of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9. She was born October 16, 1961 in Gonzales the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Baker.

She attended Gonzales High School and received an associate degree in business from the University of Phoenix. She was a general manager for Stripes Convienience Stores. She enjoyed arts and crafts especially decorating and was a talented painter. Most of all she loved time spent with her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Pedro Pena of Belton; parents Charles and Dorothy Baker of Gonzales; daughters Audrey Shay Laster and husband Alexandre Harmon of Temple and Trisha Michelle Riedel of Weatherford; grandchildren Heaven Lockhart, Zane Archer, Jaclyn Archer and Isaac Harmon; brothers William Don Baker of Raymondville and Richard Baker and wife Marian of Gonzales; niece Lacey Baker of Gonzales and nephews Clint Baker of Cuero and Jeremy Baker of Manhattan, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by sister Patsy Charlene Baker and brother Jack Charles Baker.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Irving officiating. Interment will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers include Noah Pena Sr., Jacob Pena, Noah Pena Jr., Alex Harmon, Clint Baker, Zane Archer and Gary Baker. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
