Julio Proa Jr.

Julio Proa Jr., 48, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Friday, Feb. 1 at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Stan Fluk officiating. Burial will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas with Deacon Alfonso Moreno officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Buffington Funeral Home.

Julio was born on Au. 13, 1970 in Gonzales, Texas. He was the son of Julio and Georgia (Ybarbo) Proa. He graduated from Gonzales High School. He liked to cook and have BBQs with family and friends. He liked to help around the house and watch horror movies on tv. He liked to go fishing and he was willing to help anyone in need.

Julio is survived by his mother; Georgia Proa, one son; Julio Joshua Pora of Gonzales, Texas, two daughters; Samantha Proa of Gonzales, Texas, Cassidy Proa of Gonzales, Texas, two brothers; Domingo Proa and his wife, Jo Ann Padilla of Gonzales, Texas, David Proa of Fort Worth, Texas, one sister; Beronica Proa of Gonzales, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Julio Proa.

Pallbearers for Mr. Proa will be; Martin Ramirez, Martin Ramirez Jr., Stephen Cobbler, Chachi Carrizales, Alonzo Sirilo, James Pageant, Fermin Cerda, and Guadalupe Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Domingo Proa Jr., Lee Sirilo, and Joe Ybarbo.
