Judy Graves Abraham

Judy Graves Abraham, 84, of Luling, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14. She was born August 31, 1924 in Harwood, the daughter of James Nelson Graves Sr. and Kittie Willie McCoy Graves.

She was an accomplished musician , singer and a prolific songwriter. She was a member of the “Texas Buckaroos” and played at numerous venues in the country. She and her husband played with numerous bands throughout their careers. She was a member of the River of Life Worship Center in Luling and later assisted her husband George with the Harwood Full Gospel Church. She was a very dedicated daughter and cared for her mother for many years.

She is survived by her brother James N. Graves Jr. and wife Millie of Austin; nieces and nephews: Charles Graves and wife Mary and Cecil Graves and wife Kathy all of Boerne, Bill Senterfitt and wife Peggy of Rowlett, Janice Rasmussen and husband Craig of Corpus Christi, James N. Graves III, John Graves , Jeanie Graves and Mary Gordoa and husband David all of Austin. Also surviving are numerous Great and Great-Great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Abraham, sisters Lillie Graves and Grace Senterfitt, brothers T.W. Graves and Cecil Clyde Graves.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at O’Bannon Funeral Home in Luling. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 at the funeral home with Reverend Jimmy Lammers officiating. Interment will follow at the Harwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the care and direction of O’Bannon Funeral Home, 210 S. Laurel, Luling, TX.
