James Willard “J.C.” Collins Jr., 73, of Gonzales, passed away Dec. 11. He was born Feb. 5, 1944 in Gonzales the son of James W. Collins Sr. and Dorothy Nell Parker Collins.

He served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He owned and operated J.C. Grinding Company in Houston for many years. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars and his machine shop. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and always joking around.

He is survived by his daughters: Kimberly Brown of Flint, TX and Kerrie Judd Richey of Cypress, TX; son Tommy Collins of Houston, TX; sisters: Charlotte Ann Knippa of Calallen, TX and Jan LaNell McIntosh of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Lammers officiating.
