James Norris Howell was born June 25, 1954 to Donald and Willie (Billie) Staton Howell and went to be with his Lord on Oct. 25.

He was preceded in death by his father, daughter (Billie Jean), and his brother (Donald David).

He is survived by his mother, Willie (Billie) Howell, four sisters, one brother, three children and many grandchildren. He was a six generation, life-long resident of Gonzales County.

He graduated from Gonzales High School and attend Southwest Texas University in San Marcos. After starting his family, he worked in the oilfield and later worked for himself in construction. He took special pride in creating new things or making the old look like new, again. He was a life-time Baptist and enjoyed reading his Bible and going to church and Sunday school. This was especially dear to him later in life. Brother Clint Lowery was an inspiration to him and the prayers he offered on James’ behalf brought him much comfort. A special thanks, from his family, goes to Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Texan Nursing Home, Dr. Hisey and the many friends and family who gave him support and love during his life.
