Inquirer files FOIA Request involving the EMS Board

On Wednesday morning, the Gonzales Inquirer formally presented the Gonzales County EMS Board of Directors — through their legal counsel Jackie Williamson — a request under the Texas Public Information Act seeking information involving salaries, payments, disbursements and other financial restitution made to James and Carla Russell and all members of the EMS Board who served at any time for the years 2013-2018. In addition, the Inquirer asked for copies of the Russells’ formal letters of resignation.
The following wording was included in the request:
Please take notice that the Gonzales Inquirer is requesting pertinent information and documentation pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act.
Specifically, we request the following information:

  1. All payroll records and financial disbursements made to James and Carla Russell from the years 2013-2018, including but not limited to: salary, bonuses, additional pay (i.e. 2nd and 3rd out), mileage reimbursement, rent, and expense reimbursement;
  2. Copies of the resignation letters signed by both James and Carla Russell;
  3. All payroll, checks, financial disbursements and reimbursement records made to — or for — any and all members of the Gonzales County EMS Board who served on the board at any time during the period of 2013-18.
