Helen Maurine (Hill) Cox

Helen Maurine (Hill) Cox was born October 8, 1932, in Waelder, TX, to William Henry Hill and Cora Catherine (Hopkins) Hill. She passed from this life on September 7, 2021, at the age of 88 years old while a resident at MacArthur Hills Senior Living Center in Irving, TX.
Maurine graduated from Gonzalez, TX, High School in 1950. On March 7, 1953, she married Gene E. Cox in Luling, TX. They made their home in Palacios, TX, where Gene worked for Alcoa and Maurine worked as a secretary in a local law firm. During their years in Palacios, three children were born to them: Karen, Gaylon, and Keith.
Gene later went to work for Tenneco Oil Company, and his work took the family to Haynesville, La., Okeene, OK, and Corpus Christi, TX, where Gene retired. Maurine worked either in banks or as a secretary in the places they lived. Gene and Maurine spent their retirement years living in Coppell, TX, where Maurine worked at the Foley's store in Vista Ridge Mall.
Maurine loved family "get togethers", bowling with friends, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and traveling. She and Gene were also very supportive of their children and grandchildren's school activities. She attended GracePoint Church in Coppell. She will be remembered for her generosity, her chocolate pie, and her Italian cream cake.
Maurine is preceded in death by her husband Gene; her parents; four brothers: Harrell Hill, Audrey "Chic" Hill, Cliff Hill, Arno Hill; three sisters: Lexie McLaughlin, Dean Hill, Catherine Hill.
Maurine is survived by her three children: daughter Karen Weber and husband Owen of Coppell, TX; son Gaylon Cox and wife Karen of Okeene, OK; and son Keith Cox and wife Angela of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren: Russ Weber and wife Melinda of Flower Mound, TX; Kristen Blalock and husband Micah of Coppell, TX; Matthew Cox and wife Tonya of Laverne, OK; Mark Cox and wife Ginger of Hennessey, OK; Kelsey Cox of Lewisville, TX; Josh Cox and wife Courtney of Stillwater, OK; ten great grandchildren: Evelyn Weber, Anabelle Weber, Levi Blalock, Noah Blalock, Joy Blalock, Tre Blalock, Keaton Cox, Kace Cox, Evan Cox, and Lauren Cox; one brother Don Hill and wife Vencie of Pasadena, TX.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, Coppell, TX.
