Harold Leon Wilson Jr., 85, of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.  He was born Nov. 9, 1933 in Lanesboro, Minn., the son of Harold L. and Elnora Houston Wilson Sr.  He attended Grinnell College in Iowa and the University of Minnesota.

He married Charlotte Brown in 1955 in Marlin, Texas.  He served with the United States Army in Korea.  He worked for Nor Best Turkeys and Swift Butterball for several years and later the U.S.D.A. as an inspector and retired in 1998. He loved golf, bowling and playing Bridge. He was an avid Gonzales Apache Football Fan.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wilson of Gonzales; sons, Greg Wilson of Schertz and Timothy Wilson of Gonzales; grandchildren, Ashley Renee Wilson Keen and Jackson Wilson.  He was preceded by his parents, sister Jeanne Barr and brother-in-law James Barr. 

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Matt Pennington officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
