Gloria Padilla Cantu

Gloria Padilla Cantu, 73, of Gonzales passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  She was born February 1, 1948 in Gonzales the daughter of Joe Padilla, Sr. and Mollie Cerda Padilla.  She married Salvador Cantu in 1962 in Gonzales and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She enjoyed bingo and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  Most of all she loved time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Cantu of Gonzales; son Salvador Cantu, Jr. and wife Rachel of Luling; sister Dora Padilla of Gonzales; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Albert Garcia, Julio Salinas, Guadalupe Martinez, Charles Hubbard, Bobby Padilla and John Navejar.  Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Cantu and Josh Cantu.
