Glen Woodie Martin

Posted

Glen Woodie Martin was born in Gonzales, TX on March 22, 1961. He passed away at his home with his wife of 27 years, Betty at his side on Jan. 10. Those who knew Glen know that he was truly a unique man who would always help someone in need. He was a master carpenter and could make anything you could ask for. He loved to fish and was always in search of that next old vehicle to rebuild. Glen’s sense of humor will be greatly missed. One of his many passions in life was taking care of unwanted animals. Glen also liked to donate his hair to Locks for Love to benefit children who fought cancer.
One of his last requests was to be at home with his puppies, wife Betty, brother Johnny Martin and Laurie Martin. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by family and close friends, Chuck and Brenda Dunahoo, Shawn Dunahoo, Ginger Childress, Darren Parker, and Renee Bednarczyk. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Dred Martin Jr., and Margaret Elaine Spahn. He is survived by his wife Betty Martin and brother Johnny Martin, wife Laurie Martin, and the many friends who he considered to be his ONLY family.
Glen chose to have a private service. Friends may contact Betty for further information regarding the date and time of service. Any other service including Feb. 2 are AGAINST his wishes. Anyone wishing to honor Glen’s memory can make donations to the Gonzales Dog Shelter.
Editor’s note: Obituary submitted by Glen Martin's wife.
