Freddie Joseph “Joey” Smith III

Freddie Joseph “Joey” Smith III, age 56, of Seguin and formerly of Nixon, passed away Oct. 29, in Seguin. He was born in Nixon, Texas on March 22, 1961.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Joseph Smith Jr.; grandparents: Fred and Kate Smith; a brother-in-law, Joe Riojas; and a nephew, John Longoria.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Kay Johnson Smith; step-children: Kelly Zapata and Isaiah Zapata; his mother, Patsy Sue Pape Smith; sisters: Sue Weaver (Doug), Dolores Torres, Lynda Agu (Ikenna), Pauline Villanueva (Joseph), Brenda Harrison (Larry); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at Encouraging Word Christian Fellowship in Leesville with the Rev. Jimmy Newman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The online guestbook may be signed at www.finchfuneralchapels.com.
