Mustangs shut out in district opener
Nixon-Smiley (0-6, 0-1) was shut out in their district opener, losing 68-0 to Poth (5-1, 1-0). The Mustangs longest play from scrimmage was a 26-yard rush by Benito Perez, who finished the night with nine rushes for 22 yards. Perez also completed 5-of-16 throws for nine yards and an interception.
The Mustangs take on Stockdale (2-4, 1-0) on the road, with kickoff set at 7:30 p.m.
Stockdale beat Natalia 17-14 while Skidmore-Tynan beat Dilley 36-20.

Shiner avenges loss with district opening win
The Shiner Comanches (6-1, 1-0) quickly avenged their loss two weeks ago to Lexington by taking down Yorktown (5-2, 0-1) 42-8 in District 15-2AD1 play last week. The Comanches travel to Weimar (5-1, 1-0), a team coming off 47-22 victory over Kenedy. Kickoff is set at 7:30 p.m.

Luling blown out on the road
