Mustangs shut out in district opener
Nixon-Smiley (0-6, 0-1) was shut out in their district opener, losing 68-0 to Poth (5-1, 1-0). The Mustangs longest play from scrimmage was a 26-yard rush by Benito Perez, who finished the night with nine rushes for 22 yards. Perez also completed 5-of-16 throws for nine yards and an interception.
The Mustangs take on Stockdale (2-4, 1-0) on the road, with kickoff set at 7:30 p.m.
Stockdale beat Natalia 17-14 while Skidmore-Tynan beat Dilley 36-20.
