Flower Power: Leos raise funds for non-profits

GONZALES — With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, one may be pondering gifts for a special someone. One may also know how much love the simple gesture of flowers can convey.

In the spirit of love, the Gonzales Leos Club is selling Valentine’s Day carnations.

The Leos are a community service organization, sponsored by the Gonzales Noon Lions, providing service and funds to several local non-profit organizations. In 2017 the Leos distributed $7,000 in donations.

As in years past, the Leos are selling the Valentine’s Day carnations and raising money to continue their tradition of charity in the community. Carnations are $2 each and may be ordered through any Leo, any member of Gonzales Noon Lions Club, or Ms. Ervin at Gonzales High School. Ms Ervin may be reached at GHS by calling 830-672-7535, or by texting 210-508-1265.

Carnation orders must be in by Wednesday, Feb. 7 and will be delivered on Valentine’s Day, to any GISD campus or business within Gonzales city limits.
