Edwin Oscar Rossow, 99, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020. Edwin was born Feb. 28, 1920 in Cost, Texas to Richard and Alma Wefer Rossow. He married Katherine Marie Wendel on April 23, 1943 in her parent’s living room in Westhoff, Texas. He was a member of the MacArthur Park Lutheran Church in San Antonio and the Hermann Sons Lodge #305 in Kirby.

Edwin worked 48 years as a machinist for the Lone Star Brewery in San Antonio. He enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing and caring for his cattle at his ranch in Westhoff. Edwin and Katherine enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Canada by car and tour buses.

Edwin took the time to teach his sons how to hunt and fish. He championed every fishing trip with his sons by catching the biggest fish. He shared with his boys the peace found outdoors hunting and the rewarding work of dressing their harvest and making sausage. He shared his years of knowledge in working cattle, putting up hay and mending fences. To be certain he and Katherine led them in their Christian faith by the manner in which they worshipped and by the example in which Edwin and Katherine lived and loved in their 76 years of marriage.

Edwin Rossow is survived by his adoring wife, Katherine Rossow of San Antonio, sons, Sid Rossow of Beeville, Stan Rossow and his wife Joey of Pipe Creek, grandchildren, Susie and Jason Lewis, Melinda and Scott Culak of Pipe Creek, Todd and Corissa Rossow of Canyon, Kurt and Katie Rossow of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Stacey and Jake Roeschen of Boone, North Carolina, and six great-grandchildren.
