Edwin Michael Molnoskey, 72, of Gonzales, passed away Friday, July 14. He was born August 9, 1944 in Gonzales, the son of John Frank and Theresa Pekar Molnoskey. He married Sandra June Lepori in 1962 in Edna.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Edwin worked as a diesel mechanic and operator for the Texas Department of Transportation and retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and in earlier years playing guitar and writing songs. He coached Little League in Gonzales for many years and enjoyed playing softball. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and grandchild at heart Kaislyn Molnoskey in an around Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sandra Molnoskey of Gonzales; daughter Tammy Simper and husband Keith of Cypress; son Jared Wayne Molnoskey of Gonzales; grandchildren Kayle Molnoskey, Connor Molnoskey, Tabitha Simper, Katrina Simper and Keaton Michael Simper; sisters Tracie Read of Seguin, Agnes Jasek and husband Daniel of Moulton and Adeline Molnoskey of Gonzales; brother David Molnoskey and wife Janice of Gonzales. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe D. Molnoskey and Ludwig C. Molnoskey and sister Helen Mercer; infant brother and sisters Johnny, Madeline and Laurencia Molnoskey.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
