Doris Jean Green

Doris Jean Green, 73, of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, March 17. She was born June 28, 1945 in Gonzales, the daughter of Adolph and Alice Caraway Priesmeyer.
She married Bobby Green in Karnes County. She enjoyed gardening and tending her many plants; being outdoors, sitting on her porch. In her younger years she helped tend cattle and build fences, doing whatever was needed to help her husband and family. She saw to it that her family went on yearly trips and many day trips to the beach. She was an avid garage sale shopper and would always buy something if not for her for one of her children. She was an excellent cook, making pies, cookies and many other desserts during the holidays and family gatherings. She was well known for her fried chicken even making it at the beach. She was a loyal friend and was always there for them placing their needs ahead of hers. Most of all she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and her precious great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Gonzales VFW Post 4817 Auxillary.
She is survived by sons: William “Peanut” Green and wife Susan of Adkins, Jimmy Green of Richardson; daughters: Carolyn Mikesh of Gonzales, Michelle McKinney and husband Dink of Waelder and Ella Green Rhoades and husband Billy of Gonzales; grandchildren: Kristi Green, Misty Mikesh, Chelsea Green, Chase Mikesh, Amber Roach and husband Brandon, Tanner Mikesh and wife Madison, Gabby Green, Damaris Green, Brandon Brown, Cody Green, Thad Spence Sparks, Statten and Konnor Green and Keith Gerald; great-grandchildren: Colby,Rayden and Kyleigh Webb, Brynlee and Dawson Gutierez, Ashlyn DeLeon, Daxtyn Herrera, Trigg Green, Hunter and Hagen Gerald; sisters: Brenda Hutchins, Fay DuBose and husband Bruce and Barbara Priesmeyer and husband Richard. Also surviving is her special friend Elaine Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Sharon Green and Misty Green, brother William Edward “Cooney” Priesmeyer and her son-in-law Danny Mikesh.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, March 25 with services following at 11 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Michael Cowey officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
