Domingo Moreno, 54, of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18. He was born June 30, 1963 in Gonzales, the son of Guadalupe Moreno Sr. and Josephine Hernandez Moreno.

He was a 1982 graduate of Gonzales High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a cook in several restaurants.

He loved music, was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He was known for his good sense of humor and was loved by all. He was affectionately known as “Sunday” and “Mingo.”

He is survived by his daughter Corina Denise Moreno of Gonzales; sisters: Josephine Laredo of Gonzales, Rachel Carrizales and husband John of Troup, Frances Moreno of Gonzales and Maria Burton and husband Daniel of Gonzales; brothers: Guadalupe Moreno Jr. of Gonzales, Ramon Moreno and wife Nancy of Kyle, Reyes Moreno of Gonzales, Carlos D. Moreno of Dallas and Jose L. Moreno of Gonzales. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the Slayden Cemetery with Deacon John Carrizales officiating. The family of Domingo would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Nursing and Rehab for their care and affection. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
