Connie Jane Blundell Riley was born June 25, 1956 and passed away June 23, 2016 at the age of 59 in an automobile accident. She is preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Russell J. Riley as well as her previous husband, L. A. Lindemann, Jr. She is survived by her children, Renee Nicole Lindemann and significant other, Alex Pizarro of Gonzales, Wendy Lindemann O’Rear and husband Mike O’Rear of Frisco, and son Dustin Ray Logan and grandchildren Taegan, Trevor and Taelynn Thwing; parents, Bill and Juanita Blundell of Gonzales; sisters, Carolyn Cain and husband Don Cain of Gonzales, Phyllis Snoga and husband Glenn Snoga of Seguin as well as several nieces and nephews.

Connie was a dedicated nurse for more than 25 years. She cared for the residents of the Romberg House in Gonzales for nearly a decade and was especially passionate about caring for special needs children. Though her work in recent years called her to other cities and towns, she touched many patients and their families in a very special way.

She came from a long line of strong women and taught her two daughters to be just as strong and independent as she was. Russell and Connie made their home together in the country and had a few head of cattle that she loved to care for. She loved the slower pace of life that the country offered and though she traveled many miles to care for her patients, she always returned to the peaceful solitude of her country life. She loved her children and grandchildren and gave much of herself teaching and guiding them about the ways of life.

Her other passion was SCUBA diving and she and Russell made several trips to the Bahamas and Mexico to enjoy the multitude of fish species and spectacular beauty of our oceans. They enjoyed underwater photography and took countless pictures on their adventures. Connie and Russell wanted to share their passion for SCUBA with their eldest granddaughter, Taegan. Unfortunately, the opportunity never presented itself before Russell passed in early 2012.

Connie will be missed by friends and family.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 in the First United Methodist Church in Gonzales with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompsonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike O’Rear, Alex Pizarro, Glenn Snoga, Ben Snoga, Blaine Snoga and Brian Wells. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Buchans.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be to the American Cancer Society, the First United Methodist Church or the Thompsonville Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
