City of Gonzales preaches diligence

Posted

In maintaining diligent efforts to protect the public health of our community, The City of Gonzales is reminding its citizens of the guidelines set in place with the Declaration of Public Health Emergency currently in effect:

  • No social gatherings of more than 10 people – this includes indoor and outdoor groups, as well as private residences.
  • Maintain a 6ft. distance in all interactions
  • Violations can be fined up to $1,000.00

Additional measures are strongly advised:

  • Cancellation of all social gatherings, even less than 10, during this time
  • As advised by Governor Abbott, local employers are encouraged to allow employees to work from home when at all possible.
  • Enjoy the outdoors! But avoid all group sports to limit personal contact.
  • Stay home, if at all possible.

At this time, one case has been confirmed by Gonzales County Emergency Management within Gonzales County. Working alongside our City, County and community leaders, we are prepared and not panicked. But we implore every citizen of Gonzales, no matter the age or health status, to take seriously the personal responsibility to slow the spread of COVID-19. Each individual must do their part. In doing so, restrictions can be removed sooner. Thank you and God Bless.
