Bonnie Jane Vernor

Bonnie Jane Vernor, 85, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019.  She was born Jan. 20, 1934 in Gonzales, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Lucille Iley Witten. She married Walter Stanley Vernor May 13, 1961 in Laredo. 

She was a secretary for Tyson Foods and retired in the mid 90’s.  Bonnie loved traveling and went on several cruises with her husband after their retirement.  She enjoyed traveling through the Texas Hill Country, horse racing and trips to casinos. 

She was very passionate about her beloved dogs; invited her girlfriends to her home for parties; always dressed her best and treasured time spent with her family and loving friends. 

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Smith and husband Ross of Gonzales; grandchildren, Wade Hill, Jennifer McRae and husband Ramiro and Sarah McRae; great-grandchildren, Brittani, Coy, Suzanna, Ramiro Jr., Krimson, Olivia, Lola and Robby; great-great grandson, Mathias; brother Darrell Witten and wife Patsy of Nachodoches; niece Kena Totsch and husband Rick of Joshua; nephew Kenny Witten of Monroe, Louisiana; great-niece Vivian Totsch of Joshua and many loving friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. 

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at The Gonzales Elks Lodge.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Gonzales Elks Lodge.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
