Billy Polasek, 77, completed his earthly journey Monday, June 10, 2019. He was born September 4, 1941 in Shiner, Texas to the late, Bill and Julia (Hobizal) Polasek.

He was a hardworking farmer and rancher, loved raising cattle, and could be found in his pastures working the land from sun up to sun down.

He attended school in Shiner, served our country in the US Army National Guard, and returned to Glaze City to ranch for 60 years. He was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and served on the Gonzales County FSA Committee.

He will always be remembered for being kind, loyal, honest, acting with integrity, being a man of his word, dedicated, friendly, hardworking, and a helper to even a stranger. He loved the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and tending to his cattle.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 25 years, Cathy (Stolarski) Polasek of Shiner; daughter, Colette Maxwell and husband Greg of Cypress; grandchildren, Maddie, Walt and Jackson Maxwell;  and other very dear family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Eugene Trobl.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Rev Raz officiating. Burial to follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Greg Maxwell, Walt Maxwell, Jackson Maxwell, Ronnie Trobl, Roger Trobl, Harold Koening, Donald Hajek and Leo Hermes.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Trobl, Joey Trobl, Leroy Hewig, George Migl, Ryan Tudyk and Victor Kneifel.

Memorials may be given to Shiner Volunteer Fire Dept.
