Betty Jo Beeson Gandre

Betty Jo (Beeson) Gandre passed on to her heavenly home on July 3, 2020 in Gonzales, Texas at the age of 90.  She was born in Five Mile, Gonzales County, Texas on March 30, 1930 to Melvin E. Beeson and LaVell Rentz Beeson.  She married Robert Earl Gandre in Monthalia, Texas on August 14, 1947.

She is survived by one son, Robert Sasman “Butch” Gandre and wife Jackie, and grandchildren Courtney Riggar (Adam) of Pennsylvania, Branden Gandre (Amber) of Marion, Texas, Randy Gandre of San Antonio, Texas, and Jason Cosgrove of Richardson, Texas.  She has three great-grandsons, Finn and Henry Riggar and Gage Gandre.  She is also survived by her siblings Ray Beeson (Jeanette) of Victoria, Texas, Willie Ann Canion of Smiley, Texas, Charles “Fred” Beeson (Beverly) of Seguin, Texas, Sandra Kay Burleson (Patrick) of Cypress Mill, Texas, and Tim Beeson (Kathy) of New Braunfels, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gandre, parents Melvin and LaVell Beeson, sister Melva Tate and brother Melvin Beeson, Jr.

Her husband’s job took them to many places to live finally settling in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Betty was an active member and faithful servant of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities over the years including United Methodist Women and working with the youth which brought her much joy.  She was also a member of the Fredericksburg Ephriam Andrews Chapter of DAR.  She participated in the Emmaus Community and was a hospital volunteer.  She enjoyed volunteering for many Fredericksburg community events over the years. She was currently a member of the Monthalia United Methodist Church.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Heights of Gonzales, where she resided for the last 10 years, for the care they provided.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Memorials may be made to The Monthalia United Methodist Church.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be followed for the safety of everyone.
