Apaches taken down by Blanco on the road

BLANCO — The Gonzales Apaches traveled to Blanco, losing in the non-district bout 94-55. The Apaches are at home tonight as they take on Lockhart, with tipoff set at 6:15 p.m.

This upcoming week the Apaches travel to Goliad for a two-day tournament that starts this Thursday. The boys’ tournament is split into four three-team pools, with Pool A holding Goliad, Beeville and Stockdale, Pool B holding Karnes City, Gonzales and Annapolis, Pool C hosting La Vernia, Palacios and Ingleside and Pool D holding Poth, Edna and Yorktown. The tournament can potentially be a first look at District 27-4A mates La Vernia, depending on how seeding goes after pool play.

The Apaches play Thursday first against Karnes City at 9:30 a.m. in the Goliad Main Gym. Their next game is later that night, a 6:30 p.m. tipoff against Annapolis at 6:30 p.m. Teams are seeded by their wins/losses, and depending on their play, the Apaches will either play as Bronze Pool B on 8 a.m. on Friday, Silver Pool B on 9:30 a.m. on Friday or Gold Pool B at 2 p.m. Championship game is at 8 p.m. Friday.
