GONZALES — The Gonzales Apache football program is changing things up this year, splitting their football camps into two separate weeks.

From May 29 – June 1, current first through fifth graders will be able to participate in the football camp at the practice field from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Camp features include:

• Fundamentals, skills and techniques

• Competition games and a 7-on-7 tournament

• Gonzales High School football philosophy and attitude

• Camp awards

Reserve your place in camp now. You can pick up a registration form at the Gonzales Fieldhouse and mail it to Coach Kodi Crane at PO Drawer M Gonzales, TX 78629 or you can register in person at the fieldhouse. The camp fee is $30 per athlete. The fee includes camp awards and the official Gonzales Apache Football Camp T-shirt. Make checks payable to Lettermen Club.

Campers are required to bring shorts, a T-shirt, football shoes, filled water bottle, Gatorade and snacks (optional).

From July 30 – Aug. 2, the Apache football program will host another camp, this time for rising seventh through ninth graders. The camp will take place at the practice field from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Camp features will include the same thing as the younger group, except workouts will be structured exactly like the Apaches normal football practices.

“We will teach offensive and defensive schemes we will be running in the fall,” the flier reads. “We will begin our install along with competition games and fun.”

Call Gonzales Head Football Coach Kodi Crane at 830-857-0309 for additional information on either camp.
