Alice Marie Mills Glass

Alice Marie Mills Glass, 83, of Gonzales passed away Sunday June 28, 2020. She was born July 27, 1936 in Gonzales to Herff T. and Floy Finch Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gonzales. Alice Marie was married to William (Bill) Bryan Glass on June 6, 1954, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2012.

Alice Marie found lifelong fulfillment as a homemaker, working alongside her husband, Bill on the family poultry and cattle operation. Many times, she helped with daytime management of the farm, while Bill worked his day job as a teacher and school administrator at Gonzales High School. She enjoyed spending time with family in all their activities, whether it was work on the farm, going to school activities, rodeos, or horse playday events. She found joy in making sure that her family was well fed, cared for, and that they knew our Lord and Savior.

Alice Marie is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Ray) Raley, two sons, Bryan (Celia) Glass and Glenn (Linda) Glass, all of Gonzales; grandchildren Cydney (Terry) Mathis, Ray Lee (Angelica) Raley, III, William (Lea) Glass, Allison (Mason) Davis, Danyelle Glass, Keaton Glass, Kobey Glass, foster granddaughter Arlene (Ryan) Arciniaga, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by dear family friends Luis and Balbina Govea who cannot be thanked enough for all the care that they gave her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, and two brothers, Brannon H. Mills and Roy C. Mills.

Thanks, are also due to all the caregivers at The Heights of Gonzales and Dr. Chris Walker for making her final days much more pleasant.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 3, 2020 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hermann Sons Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ray Lee Raley, III, William Glass, Kameron Craft, Mason Davis, Terry Mathis, Darren Glass, Seth Mills and Ray Neitsch. Honorary pallbearers: Keaton Glass, Kobey Glass and Luis Govea.
