Abigail Mata Casares

Abigail Mata Casares, 43, of Gonzales passed away Aug. 21, 2021. She was born November 18, 1977 in Palestine, TX to Arturo Peneda Mata and Cruz Campos Mata.

Abigail was a loving, hardworking, and passionate daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She worked closely with her dad at A&S Recycling for 32 years. Abigail was a strong woman of faith and attended worship services at Templo Bethel Penticostes Church. She made a huge impact on the community, very much like her father had done, and her memory will be cherished.

Abigail is survived by her loving family, mother: Cruz Mata; husband: Angel Casares and their three children; son: Anthony Jacob Casares; and daughters: Angelina and Abby Casares. She held a special place in her heart for her grandson: Michael Arthur Casares. She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Santos and Elizabeth Mata. Abigail was preceded in death by her loving father.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 pm Monday, Aug. 30, 2021 in the J.B. Wells Expo Center. A rosary with a prayer service following will begin at 6:30. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the J.B. Wells Expo Center with Rev. Samuel Montoya officiating. Interment will follow in Cemeterio Bautista in Luling.

Pallbearers: Gilbert Casares, Jesse Casares, Alex Casares, Anthony Casares, Peter Campos, and Joshua Buseos. Memorials may be made to Templo Bethel Pentecostes Church or Cemeterio Baustista in Luling. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com.

Due to the present uptick in reported Covid-19 illnesses, protective measures regarding social distancing, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, funeral service, and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
