Sellouts welcome return of movies to Gonzales

The Lynn Theatre, darkened for years as a movie theater, was welcomed back to downtown Gonzales by sellout crowds clamoring to see “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” the final installment in the Twilight saga.

New proprietor Cliff Anderson and his family brought the venerable landmark back to life with gusto, as crowd jammed the theater on Confederate Square for a midnight showing of the movie on Thursday, Nov. 15, and followed with equally enthusiastic crowds over the weekend.

Anderson says he expects to have the theater’s second screen upstairs ready for movies beginning Wednesday, just in time for the busy Thanksgiving holidays.
