Reader gives props to Storey’s security

Dear Editor:

Recently I was in Storey Jewelers for my rings annual checkup. I pulled my rings off, all except my 56-year-old wedding band. It was loose on my finger not having my University of Iowa college ring to keep it on, and unbeknownst to me, as I walked around Paul Neuse’s beautiful new store, it slipped off. Before I left the store, I looked for it, told Paul I’d lost it and left, feeling very disgusted with myself.

A few days later, I went back and looked again though the store staff had already looked. I noticed Lt. Tammy West who was providing security. She was really watching everything but it never occurred to me to ask Lt. West to look.

That night, Paul called and told me that Lt. West had found my wedding band under a chair, stuck down in a rug. (I looked at the place where she found it, and was amazed that she found it.)

You will be glad to know that I have had ALL my rings cut down to fit.

One other thing: When Lt. West is on duty, don’t bother trying to hide anything from her. Give up, and save your energy. Thank you, again, Lt. West, Paul, and everyone else who looked for my wedding band.

On another subject, I was advised to boycott “Corner Stores” (that sell synthetic marijuana that is killing our children).

I went to the Valero Corner Store on 97 and 90A and asked 3 clerks there if they sold Synthetic Marijuana.

The answer was “no”, thank God!
