Wilma Cletty Thurmond

Wilma Cletty Thurmond, 92, of Gonzales, passed away April 8, 2016 in Gonzales.  She was born on Feb. 18, 1924 in Coffeyville, Kan. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Myrtle Pedwell Neer and son, Stephen Earl Thurmond. She is survived by her husband, J.L. Thurmond; granddaughters, Elaine Stephanie Schutter and husband David and Pamela April Thompson and husband Jason; great-grandchildren, April Rae Thompson, Kaylin Ann Thompson and Dawson Tres Schutter; brothers, Charles Neer and Leroy Neer and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 12 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery near Nixon.
