Vera Valdine Reynolds

Vera Valdine Reynolds passed from this world on Feb. 23 and went to her Mansion In the Sky to be present with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on March 21, 1926 to Jessie Easterling and Lillie Martin Easterling in Nevada County, Arkansas.

She married Chester Jackson Russell on December 5, 1945. She and Chester had 3 daughters, Charlotte, Daisy and Frances. She married Omar Reynolds on September 22, 1961. They moved to Harwood, Texas in the early 1960’s and Valdine resided there until her death.

She and Omar loved to travel and they especially loved visiting Yellowstone National Park and camping.

Valdine had a gift of hospitality and loved having company and she loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She made sure no one left her house hungry. Her patio was always full of beautiful plants. Her garden was full of fig, pear, plum and peach trees, potatoes, beans, tomatoes, corn, jalapenos, greens and she canned a lot.

She was a member of the Thompsonville Ladies Club.

Valdine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughters Daisy Kelso and Frances Mahan; sister India Caswell; brothers-in-law David Caswell and Clayton Wright; son-in-law Eugene Zimmermann; grandsons Russell Zimmermann and Darren Zimmermann.

Valdines legacy lives on through her daughter Charlotte Zimmermann of Moulton; sister Joyce Wright of Winnie; sons-in-law Jim Kelso and Donald Mahan; step-daughter Diane Pallozzollo; 3 grandsons Shannon Kelso of Harwood, Brandon Kelso and wife Julie of Round Rock and Jeffrey Mahan and wife Anna of Deer Park; 2 step-grandchildren Kevin Kelso of Seguin and Tammy Bell and husband Keith of Edna; great-grandchildren Ashley Hooper and husband Jake, Jordan Zimmermann, Troy Mahan, Aimee Mahan, Jackson Kelso, Carson Kelso, Kylie Kelso and Brayden Kelso; step-great-grandchildren Steven Payne, Ashton Kelly, Krysta Kelso, Kassidy Kelso, Zhanay Drehr and Katelynn Bell and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren Haleigh, McKenzie and Chelsea Drehr and Baby Kelley due in May.

Valdine loved her family so very much and was loved and cherished by them. She will be missed by everyone and we will all cherish the memories we have of her.

Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at the funeral home with Dr. Chris Irving officiating. Interment will follow at the Thompsonville Cemetery. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
