Margaret, known affectionately to her family as “Bobbie” or “Bob,” was born Jan, 23, 1924, the daughter of Louis Dillard and Mamie (Robinson) Buchanan of Gonzales. On May 8, 1942, Margaret eloped to marry her high school sweetheart, Frank J. “F.J.” Spacek Jr. while he was a student at Texas A&M in College Station. They remained sweethearts throughout their married life, celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in May 2012.

While F.J. They made their home at Chesapeake Beach, Md. following F.J.’s retirement. After moving to Martinsburg in 1987, Margaret was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church, and volunteered in the Berkeley County Senior Center, providing manicures for the center’s participants.

In addition to her husband, their son Frank J. Spack III (Janie) of Winchester, Va., survives her. Also surviving are grandson Patrick J. Spacek of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter Kristina Spacek-Spivey (Scott) of Church Road, Va.; and grandchildren’s mother Patty Spacek of Prince George, Va.

The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who visited Margaret and assisted the family in multiple ways during her illness.
