Ida May Fisher

Ida May Fisher, 88, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. She was born Sept. 22, 1926 in Nyack, NY, the daughter of Frank and Ida May Baldwin Nickerson. She married John Fisher in 1986 in Austin.

She worked for many years with Lederle Laboratories in New York and later with Texas Instruments in Austin. She enjoyed swimming, all kinds of craft projects and crocheting.  Most of all she cherished time spent with her loving family. 

She is survived by her son, Vincent J. “Jim” DeCola and wife Debbie of Gonzales; daughter, Rita May Hobbs of Cecil, Ark.; grandchildren, Carol Batey of Cecil, Ark., Kathy Wright of Clearwater, Fla., Ray DeCola and wife Kim of Gonzales, Jarrett DeCola and wife Kristen of New Braunfels and Annette DeCola of Gonzales. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded by her parents, husband, grandson Dale DeCola, son-in-law Bill Hobbs and sisters Ellen Babcock, Jean Hester, Florence Johnson and Amy Perry. 

Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Irving officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to donors charity of choice.
