Iris M. Allen

Iris M. Allen, 80, of Center, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Center.  She was born Aug. 8, 1933 in Dewville to Roy Vance McLean and Rachael Lakey McLean.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and caregiver to her loved ones.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Pat Windham and Bro. Sam Wheeler officiating.  Interment will follow at Shelbyville Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Pallbearers will be Alan Ray, Bill Hairgrove, Don Wheeler, Larry Warren, Michael Warren, Roy Peace, Shane Ray and Terry Yates.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Allen and wife, Jan of Joaquin and Michael Allen of Center; brother, Alton McLean of Center; sisters-in-law, Shirley Carter of Shelbyville and Marilyn Allen of Natalia; grandchildren, J.B. Raymond and wife Jennifer of Center, Alyse Allen of Carthage and  Christina Fulsom of Carthage. Great-grandchildren, McKynzie Bush of Center Justin Raymond of Center, Jaxon Raymond of Center, Avery Prudhomme of Carthage, Landon LaGrone of Carthage and Kali Fulsom of Carthage as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband: J.T. “Bubba” Allen Jr.; parents, Roy Vance McLean and Rachael Lakey McLean; brother, Donald V McLean and special aunt: Eva Lakey
