Gonzales Post Office to change collection box pick-up time

GONZALES — Outgoing mail left in the collection box at Gonzales Post Office will have to be dropped 15 minutes earlier, beginning in just a few weeks.

"The time the mail is picked up is determined by the specific needs and setup of the local Postal Service District to ensure that the mail is transported to the area’s mail processing and distribution center in time,” USPS public information officer Robert S. Bolen said. "This process is regularly reviewed and modified as necessary by local management."

Bolen said effective May 8, the last collection on weekdays and Saturday will change from 5:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"The pick-up time for the collection box at the Gonzales Post Office, 920 N Saint Joseph St., Suite 105, Gonzales, TX 78629, is being modified to better align with processing schedules so that we may provide the best possible service to our customers," Bolen said.
