GONZALES — A Cost man was arrested after officers said he slashed a woman’s tire and stalked her.

At 9:30 a.m. Nov. 20, Officer Gabriel Trevino was dispatched to the intersection of Church and Wells streets in reference to a report of criminal mischief in the area, Capt. Allen Taylor reported. Trevino and Sgt. Drew Nidey, along with other officers, arrived at the scene and met with the victim — who told Nidey her ex-boyfriend — Chad Cook, 37, of Cost — had slashed one of the tires on her car. He then took off on foot, Taylor said.

Officers later found Cook and arrested him for damaging the tire. The victim also said Cook had earlier harassed her at her mother’s home and refused to leave. Officers additionally discovered Cook had a city municipal warrant for his arrest and took him to Gonzales County Jail. He is charged with criminal mischief and stalking.
