Today is the deciding day in the race for state representative in the district that covers Gonzales, Karnes, Caldwell, Bastrop and Lee Counties. There will be no runoff, no do-over, and hopefully no recount. This is it.
In a race that began in early November upon the resignation of State Representative Tim Kleinschmidt, the end is here. Tomorrow, either John Cyrier or Brent Golemon will be Gonzales’ new representative-elect in the 84th Texas Legislature.
Six polling locations will be open today for eager voters. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the following locations. Note that locations have been consolidated and you should know your voting precinct in order to find where to go.

•Pct. 3, 5, 7, 8: City Building, 820 St. Joseph Street
•Pct. 4, 6, 10, 13: Gonzales County Nixon Annex, 603 E. Central, Nixon
•Pct. 9: Waelder Community Center
•Pct. 12: J.B. Wells Park Show Barn
