Gonzales Crime Stoppers offering cash for info on drugstore burglary

The Greater Gonzales County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest or grand jury indictment for the person or persons involved in the burglary of Mohrmann’s Drug Store discovered on Feb. 12.

Unknown subjects entered the store located at the 2400 block of Winding Way Dr. sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 and 5:12 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12. The burglars attempted to enter the business through the roof, but they were unsuccessful. They eventually gained entry by knocking a hole in an exterior wall.

Several types of narcotics, cash and two handguns were taken.

Information gathered at the scene indicated that possibly two or more individuals were involved. Investigators also have information that this burglary may be connected to the burglary of a Shiner pharmacy in December 2014.

Evidence from the Gonzales burglary was recovered five miles north of Gonzales off of Hwy. 97 E.
