Promoting youth and the City of Gonzales are two ingredients Rodeo Producers Mark Swearingen and J.C. Kitaif have the desire to accomplish.

The two producers of the Cowboy Springbreak Youth Challenge have begun that task as the March 12-17 event nears.

The Youth Rodeo will hold its home in Gonzales for the next 10 years and with the influx of traffic the city will receive, could be a boost to the economy in a positive aspect.

With that, the Gonzales Inquirer has been named the official news source for the Youth Challenge with exclusive results and information available both online and in the print version of the newspaper.

Nearly 750 contestants are projected to compete and feature the most prolific youth rodeo contestants in the nation.

The rodeo is open to youth 19 and under as of March 12, 2011. Entries must be postmarked by February 15. Late entries will be accepted until March 3 with a $50 late fee.
