Annual Spring cleanup set

GONZALES — April showers bring May flowers and a chance to rid your house of a lot of junk. The annual Jim Price Community Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 at its usual location near Apache Field.

As has been the case in years past, large dumpsters will be trucked in to help citizens rid their yards of unwanted clutter. People can bring batteries, scrap metal, electronics, appliances and other trash and debris to dispose of. As always, no commercial or business dumping is allowed and they will not accept any tires.

The entrance to the temporary dumping facility will be located on Tate St., which should be entered from St. Paul Street. Vehicles will exit onto St. Joseph Street. A City of Gonzales utility bill must be presented in order to use the dumpsite and vehicles must be in line by noon in order to dump.

Businesses and civic groups who wish to form teams and clean up neighborhoods or public areas can call 830-857-6265 or email holtmarketing@yahoo.com to reserve a clean-up area and arrange to get various supplies and to schedule a pick up.

For more general information, call City Hall at 830-672-2815.
