Registration for adult education classes starts Aug. 27

The Gonzales Learning and Career Center has announced free adult education classes that will start this fall.

There will be two day classes:

• Project forward class, which encompasses GED preparation, life skills, employment readiness and adult basic education. It will be Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-noon.

• English as a second language class will be Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

There will be two night classes:

• GED and beyond class, which prepares clients for the high school equivalency exam, the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) and nursing school exams. Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m.

• English as a second language class will be Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

Registration starts Aug. 27 and classes start Sept. 4.

The Gonzales Learning and Career Center is located at the back of the North Avenue campus, 1135 St. Paul St. in Gonzales. For more information, call (830) 672-8291.
