Time change for Gonzales-Pleasanton play-in

Instead of receiving a day's rest, the Gonzales volleyball team will have to play again Friday night.
The Lady Apaches, 3-0 winners over Cuero Thursday night, face Pleasanton in a third-place play-in match at 7 p.m. Friday at La Vernia High School - the site of Gonzales' win over Cuero Thursday. The match was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, but was changed to Friday night because of a UIL mandate that says a series of play-in matches must occur on back-to-back nights.
The winner between Gonzales (14-13) and Pleasanton (23-13) will advance to the Class 3A state playoffs to meet Devine.
