Lighting contest winners announced
Winners have been announced for the 2012 Gonzales Christmas lighting contest.
The contest is sponsored by The Gonzales Inquirer.
Judging occurred Dec. 20 by a panel of judges that admitted it was a very close competition among the 20 entries, with the top three entries separated by only four points on the judges’ rating scale.
The first-place winner will receive $100, with second place garnering $50 and third earning $25. The judges ventured beyond their scope in naming an honorable mention entry, which will not receive any cash award. During their tour of the city, judges also took special note of decorations at two homes on Winding Way that did not enter the competition.
Entries spanned all decorating tastes: Traditional, fantasy, religious, minimalist and “Clark Griswold disciples.”
